KOMON Chopstick Rest 5-Piece Set

This 5-piece set of chopstick rests is part of the KOMON series, modernising traditional Japanese patterns passed down through generations. Each design is carefully crafted to represent a piece of Japan’s cultural heritage.

  • Fuji —Mount Fuji is considered a sacred peak and a symbol of spiritual power in Japan. It is said to bring good fortune. It is a beloved motif representing Japan’s natural beauty and national identity.

  • Ume-Tsuru – The crane, a symbol of longevity, has long been cherished in Japanese culture. This design combines the crane with the plum blossom, evoking the arrival of spring and renewal.

  • Nami Chidori – Featuring waves shaped like fans, this pattern symbolises prosperity. Paired with the plover bird, which flies close to the water to avoid danger, it’s an auspicious motif representing good fortune and safety.

  • Kozuchi – The treasure mallet pattern (Hōzuki) is known for inviting good fortune and prosperity. It symbolises the fulfilment of wishes and the arrival of blessings.

  • Hyōtan – The gourd, known for its many seeds, represents prosperity and the flourishing of descendants. It is also seen as a symbol of business success due to its natural tendency to climb and entwine.

With their slightly more extensive design and concave centre, these chopstick rests provide stability and prevent chopsticks from slipping. Perfect for formal occasions and everyday use, they bring elegance to any table setting.
